Exploring the Animus as a Complex Villain in The Substance of Things Hoped For

Yet another character profile, this time of the Animus, the original villain of Life World

Benjamin finally got his first look at the Animus. He felt an instinctive shiver of fear and loathing run down his spine as he gazed at the creature. Oddly enough, he felt as though he should know this…thing…as it sat there on the raised dais before him, as if there was some sense of recognition concerning this creature, even though Benjamin knew that he had never seen anything like the Animus in this world or any other.

At length, the Animus turned to Benjamin.

"Ah, Bereshith, welcome to Nidavell, the valley of darkness", Animus beamed at him. "I have been waiting so long to finally meet you. I have such things to show and to tell you." The strange entity stood up and gestured to Benjamin ceremoniously. "Please show our honored guest to his room", the Animus spoke to the Marauder soldiers standing around him. They quickly separated Benjamin from the rest of the group, and led him away. The Animus turned to the others, its countenance and demeanor becoming more ominous."The rest of you remain only at my discretion. I trust you will conduct yourselves accordingly." Then they were swiftly led away under guard.
